Post Size 1: 1
This post size has an aspect ratio of 1:1 which is the most popular choice on Instagram.
We also know this 1:1 post size as square photos aka box. Of course it became the most popular because basically the photos that appear as thumbnails on Instagram are squares.
I recommend using a maximum resolution of 1080px times 1080px to post this size.
Post Size 4: 5
This post size is known as a “portrait photo” or “vertical photo”.
However, often the camera in portrait mode on a smartphone has a photo with an aspect ratio of 4:3, 4:6, or 4:7, and what happens is that Instagram will automatically crop it.
The recommended resolution is 1080px times 1350px.

Yup, you can also directly from Instagram. Before filling in the caption, after selecting a photo you will be invited to crop the photo to a size of 4:5.

- Maximum file is 4GB

Size “Square” 1:1

Instagram TV was launched in June 2018. This feature was released to compete with Youtube as a video sharing medium.

Instagram TV General Specifications
Instagram TV has some differences from regular posts:
- Must be in MP4 format
- The maximum duration of a video is 15 minutes if it is uploaded from a cellphone, but if it is from the web it changes to 60 minutes.
- Maximum video size is 650mb for 15 minutes and 3.6GB for 60 minutes.
Instagram TV Size and Resolution
Instagram TV requires you to upload videos with an aspect ratio of 9:16 for vertical and 16:9 for horizontal
Basically, the best videos are vertical, because the Instagram app itself can't be rotated horizontally.
If you want to force horizontal video, you should edit your video to keep it vertical but display horizontal video.

If the carousel is non-ads, all aspect ratios of regular Instagram posts can be used with the initial image as a determinant of the aspect ratio.
If, in Carousel Ads you are only allowed to use a 1:1 aspect ratio.
Minimum resolution is 1080px by 1080px, less than that will be rejected.
- There is a maximum limit for the appearance of text in images
Like Instagram and Facebook ads, the maximum limit is 20%

Instagram Stories on Instagram Ads

So, it is possible for advertisers to advertise multiple Instagram stories at once. Instagram story carousel ads themselves are divided into two:
- Native Stories Ads
- Expandable Stories Ads
Native Stories Ads
It has the following specifications:
- The maximum number of images allowed is 3
- 9:16 ratio with 1080px by 1920 . resolution
- Maximum carousel video length is 15 seconds
Not much different from Instagram stories in general, it just happens that it is allowed to display 3 stories at once.
Expandable Stories Ads
This is a bit different, because it follows the standard single post which is not an Instagram story, but distributes it on Instagram stories.
