RecordCast: How to record screen without installing software/application

3. Does not support taking screenshots on-demand while recording. This means that if you want to take a certain part of the screen during recording, it must be done manually when the recording process is complete, precisely when entering the video editing process;

4. There is no feature to save the recording to the cloud.

RecordCast features:

1. Save

Save is the main feature of the RecordCast web application, this feature will save the editing results in the RecordCast cloud. To use this feature, you need to log in using a RecordCast account, or via SSO Google Mail, one of which, after that, you can save the currently active project.

2. Audio Recording Options

In terms of recording options, recordcast provides the option of recording audio into several parts. RecordCast provides audio recording options into 4 options through 1) Micphone + System audio, 2) Microphone, 3) System audio, 4) No audio, if you choose not to use a microphone when you record cast, then choose No audio, whereas if you choose not to use a microphone when you record cast, then choose No audio, while if you choose If you want to use the Microphone, then you can choose the Microphone option, or something else. For the record, on the free plan, RecordCast is capable of recording up to 30 minutes.

3. Video Editing Function

After the casting process is done, we can download the captured file or edit it via the Download and Edit button, or play the preview video first, by directly clicking the play icon on the playback that appears on the screen. Uniquely, when you click the Download and Edit button, the video file will be downloaded and you will be taken to the screen for video editing from RecordCast itself. On this screen, we can do video editing directly (on-demand) on the provided web app.

1. Text

a. to insert text into the video, we can insert heading text, with various shapes, shades and layouts provided to be added to the existing video timeline.

2. Background

a. To add a background to the video to be edited, we can use the Background menu.

4. Import

Besides the editing features provided, RecordCast also provides a feature to import, this is quite useful when we want to insert files from external storage into the project that is currently open or combine existing assets.

5. Export

For the Export feature itself, RecordCast provides 3 different resolution formats, namely 480p, 720p, and 1080p. The export process itself is fast, after selecting the export menu, the export progress will run and will automatically download the output video according to the selected resolution format. After that, we can continue the editing process via the Continue Editing button provided.

How to Use Recordcast :

Here are the steps for recording using the RecodCast web app:

1. Open your favorite Web Browser;

2. Access the website at the following address: https://www.recordcast.com;

3. Register for an account. This step is optional, can be omitted temporarily to register later through the menu or use Google SSO;

4. The next step is to select the recording screen mode from the 3 options provided:

a. Screen + Webcam, Screen only or Webcam only;

5. The next step is to choose a recording mode from the 3 options provided:

a. Microphone + System audio, Microphone, System audio

b. (if not using audio, just select No audio)

c. If there is a request for microphone and webcam access, click allow

6. The next step is to select the recording screen option:

a. Entire Screen: Record the entire screen on the monitor screen including the desktop with its taskbar and system tray;

b. Application Window : Records only certain application windows, such as web browsers or currently opened applications;

c. Chrome tab or your browser tab : Records only certain tabs that are currently active, in the currently open web browser.

7. Start the recording process until it's finished;

8. After the recording process has been completed, we can click the stop recording button;

9. The next step is the editing process. Feel free to add text, backgrounds, and other assets as needed;

10. When finished, can do Save and Export

11. Done.
